Every god damn single one of these fucking connectors I have ever owned (3 different computer screens, 4 different towers) over the course of 7 years...
Has become loose to the power where I have to wedge the cable in somewhere to stop it from moving.
What in the name of christ is wrong? Is this a known problem, can't find anything online??
Does not happen to me. You are not taking care of your shit properly.

>i fuck my shit up
>is this a common problem?

Guilty of not taking care in the past, but new one was an AOC monitor fresh out of the box.
Literally never unplug.

Product manufacturers have different tolerances on the size of the IEC socket as to what constitutes a 'proper' fit. Some products are loose like a prostitutes snatch from day 1, others tight as you like.
1. Get a roll of PVC tape (electricians tape)
2. Wrap the female end (the bit you put in the socket) with it a couple of times
3. Try putting it in
4. Remove a bit if you put to much on our add more if it's still loose
5. Profit
t. someone who uses thousands of IECs every day at work in critical applications

Not op, but thx, I have the same problem.
Still using original one free from corsair psu for like 9 years now, psu already ded desu. But cable still bretty good.

This stuff
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_tape
It's the exact same thickness as the end of the plug to the first plastic ridge so you can use it to build the thickness of the plastic up to fit really firmly in whatever you need to plug it in, and the tape is plastic so creates a tiny bit of friction which enough to stop it pulling out
>>60518503
Oh hell yeah! Thank you this is genuinely good advice. You truly are the king of kings.
>>60518503
>Get a roll of PVC tape (electricians tape)
You can use any normal tape for this shit.
problem is that on cheap cable IEC connector have very weak contact springs
>>60518224
I have a few really shitty power cables like that, I just throw them out if they start to be a problem. Just buy new ones off Amazon ffs.
>>60518695
and have glue everywhere?
are you stupid?
>>60519043
typical disposable modern lifestyle. you're whats wrong with everything
>>60518695
You can if you're a fucking pleb peasant that likes shitty fixes, but if you want to do a decent job of it you get the right tape, which is the one i told you to get as it is the perfect size and material to make it like it came from the factory that way.
You sound exactly like the sort of person that tries to fix headphones with packing tape or some retard-tier shit. At least fucking try.
>>60518224
Kek I've had one that caught fire while i was playing the first witcher, needless to say i freaked out but i managed to get it out of the outlet

OP here, ran to the store to buy PVC tape: completely solved my issue. Currently enjoying dual monitors (one old, one new, both crappy connection).
Thank you based Anon.
>>60518695
don't you have a CRT monitor to slap somewhere?
>>60518224
I've been using computers and that type of plug in particular for more than 20 years and that never happened to me.
Stop buying chink cables maybe.
>>60518389
Why?
>>60518503
Can I guest a video guide pls?

This is like the sturdiest power cord in the galaxy. Try keeping an Apple cord in good shape for a month and then you'll have something to bitch about.
>>60518224
why the fuck are you unplugging and plugging them back in? I've never unplugged mine unless I had a fucking good reason, which happens maybe a grand total of 3 times a year. Since everything and it's fucking dog comes with one of these, I don't think I've used one for more than 50 insertions. What the fuck are you doing to these?
>>60518224
Just go to a nearby computer repair shop/anything electronic and ask if they have any spares laying around. Usually just get them for free.
