Need to write a social issues paper. What are non-meme social issues related to tech?
i.e. DRM, drone privacy, copyright, algothirm bias affectig minorities, self driving cars

If you want a good grade just do one of the meme topics
>social issues relates to tech
just write a fucking book about how facebook exploits its users
https://stallman.org/facebook.html

I would say the increasing rise of the company's and government's hunger for data.

Not sure if it's tech-related enough, but you could write about the bullshit that is Elsevier and how they handle scientific papers and journals. Maybe throw in what sites like Scihub are doing.

Write about accessibility technologies for disabled people.
E.g. hearing aids are way too expensive and not covered by insurance (in Burgerland).
The botnet
E.g. facebook (like another anon suggested), google, etc.
You could also write about government surveillance with a particular emphasis on data leaks - e.g. if some completely random guys who call themselves Shadow Brokers were able to gain access to NSA tools and exploits, then some completely random terrorist organisation could do it too. Wannacry showed just how big of an impact something like that could have, and a malicious organisation would probably operate much more covertly (no "all your file are belong to us" pop-ups) and gain access to vast amounts of information from critical operations across the world.
All because the us government wanted to fight terrorists.
write about the insecurity of the consumer router and how easy it is to steal nudes, then do so as anecdotal evidence of such.
Postmodernism infecting literally everything.

Here's a real social issue on tech for you: How companies are pushing and abusing diversity on tech as a means to crash IT wages to maximize profit

This. You can't have a bigger social issue related to tech than privacy.

How copyright is fucking gay.
