What sorts of things make the most noise in a computer (or any peripheral)?

I just re configured my setup and now I'm getting noise from my speakers whenever I move the mouse.
>>
What kind of noise? Are the speakers up loud? It is relatively normal, I've always been able to hear it when no other audio is playing but usually only with my headphones.
>>
>>60499746
Grounding issue?
>>

>I'm getting noise from my speakers whenever I move the mouse.
Sounds like a PSU problem.
>>
>>60499816
Like a scratching noise. It's happened before on old computers and speakers, but these are really nice and it wasn't making noise before. The wires must be going past something which has a lot of interferance.
>>60499832
I don't see how. It's still pretty much the same config with things just moved around a bit.
>>60499833
Nah, like I said it just started happening when I moved things around.

>>
>>60499746
I used to have the same problem. I dont remember how it got solved.
>>
>>60500280
It's caused by an EM disturbance somewhere along the wire. Such as the HDD. I just don't know if it's my TV making all that noise or what. I guess it makes sense since it's tied in with the mouse moving...
>>
>>60499746
I have the whining noise issue from my headphone jack also that picks up mouse noise. If it was a car stereo I would say put a ground loop isolater on it.

In my case it is a cheap motherboard asrock doing it, not the psu.
>>
>>60500453
The speakers are supposed to be balanced and I thought that was supposed to eliminate noise...
>>
>>60500482
Well what can I say. I had a different motherboard in the same case with no coil whine. Still a forum post suggested putting some insulation around the front headphone jack wires which may help some.
>>
>>60500545
I guess I'll have to ask /mu/

Just some local girl. Nudes exist but are rare.
>>
>>60499833
Same thing happened to me. Gone after reseating RAM and GPU but I have a feeling that it's the latter.
>>
>>60500765
My computer is at least 2 feet from the nearest audio cable.
>>

>I just re configured my setup and now I'm getting noise from my speakers whenever I move the mouse.
That's not normal. You either have some grounding issue, or faulty hardware.

Did you try other speakers and headphones?
Did you try moving the mouse wire away?
>>
>>60500653
Check out the filename of OP's image. After you're done feeling stupid, re-evaluate your life.
>>
>>60499746
does the noise get higher pitched with a high framerate?
>>
Hi op, your issue is caused by a ground loop. You need to plug your speakers in somewhere else. Try different outlets in the room, you might need to get extension cables.
>>
>>60500731
they're all shopped, there are no nudes of her
>>
>>60499746
Check everything in the mixer and mute anything you are not using. In my setup if I mute the 'PC speaker' (whatever that is, the actual PC speakers inside the Mobo are still working) the annoying noise goes away.
>>
>>60499906
>Like a scratching noise. It's happened before on old computers and speakers, but these are really nice and it wasn't making noise before. The wires must be going past something which has a lot of interferance.

It's probably caused by a combination of loose connections and the vibration of the harddisk and fans. The sound coming from the speakers themselves can cause the connections to vibrate.
>>
>>60499746
It's from your shitty onboard sound. Install a decent sound card or USB audio.
>>
Upon further inspection, it hums while idle too

I'll try plugging it into a different place. I'm piggy backing 2 surge protectors together.
>>
>>60499746
>hey guys kripp here and today we'll be talking about getting blacked
>>
Do you have an external sound card? I used to get this too, only way to fix it was a USB isolator.
>>
>>60505431
Has nothing to do with USB or onboard or whatever. I thought this for a long time. I've since learned it's really down to the specific implementation of your audio chipset. Some USB sound cards have shit implementations, some onboard, and some PCIe cards do too.

Get something good and you'll avoid this problem. I suggest Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCI from ebay (Assuming you still have a PCI slot). It's prob $15 now and it has a great implementation and great Linux support.
>>
>>60505431
Yeah I use an external DAC
>>60506436
It's a focusrite 2i2
>>
>>60506448
You're OP? Focusrite has some QC issues. I wonder if you've got a defective unit.

I have an 18i8 and it works great now, but I had to solder in a replacement USB connector because it was giving intermittent disconnect issues.
>>
>>60506436
I just re-read my post and it sounds too much like I'm arguing with 60505431. USB Isolator may very well fix the issue, I'm only saying a good external USB audio device wouldn't need an extra isolator module.
>>
>>60506501
>I wonder if you've got a defective unit.
I tried to get a RMA but they assured me 100% that it wasn't the unit. Patches seem to help.

kys anime fag
>>
Which speakers?

Only lowering the volume on the speakers and increasing it from the interface really works.
>>
My old PC did this like crazy, but with processor noise. I couldn't be assed to fix it, so I just got a DAC instead.
>>
>>60506924
Hmm good idea. I think that will work.
>>
>"Hey guys its Sasha-the-porn-nerd-who-likes-to-slurp-cum and today I'm checking out this new penis for review."
>>
>>60506436
It's a ground loop going through his pc, usb DAC and (I'm assuming) powered speakers or amp.
>>
>>60508126
It's 2 rokit 5's and a 10s sub running through a focusrite scarlet 2i2 with "balanced" trs cables
