I've been trying to find a good tool for verifying checksums of SHA1, MD5, and SHA256.
Microsoft's own FCIV tool does it well, but only supports two.

I currently use the one in the pic, but is there a better/maybe open source one?

not use windows? Also there's a stupid questions general for this shit.

I know there used to be some md5sum version for windows that I had in path way back when

in every other OS there are tons of great free and open source tools for this. in windows you're pretty much limited to either of these if you want something free and useful:

http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/

http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/

https://sourceforge.net/projects/cyohash/

i use the first one, which is very similar to the second one. the third one also works. enjoy.

Wtf there's a pro version? Anyone can throw together an open source clone in like 10 min.

you couldnt do it in a lifetime, your like how people sit around saying they could write a better movie or yell at sports coaches.

There are operating systems that don't come with md5sum and shasum?
>>
>>60492095
Plenty. Windows actually has an official command line tool, they just don't include it with the OS releases.

It's literally a wrapper around stdlib functions in most languages but ok

true it is a UI but that is what makes it difficult though appear easy at first. the hardest part isnt the underlying code its figuring out how to make it usable so you dont get a million emails from autists like us my friend.

should you think to have a way to do this thing, then you should try at worst nothing happens, at best you ride eternal on the road to Valhalla shiny and chrome.

Don't have to figure anything out since I would just be cloning, but this is a tool for advanced users anyway and has very simple functionality. Even RMS wouldn't be able to fuck this up.

Also alternatives already exist so I don't need to do anything >>60491754

didnt op say those alternatives suck though? that their lacking the pro functions in the other one in a neat package meaning your right they exist but require multiple programs to do one thing instead of one????
