Why?

Why not?

Why why not?
>>
Asian PC cafe market.
I have no fucking idea.
>>
>>60478440
LoL and Overwatch in Dell prebuilt.
>>
Would have understood it if it had displayport.

The customers for 1030/rx550 would be those needing DP for their monitors.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hn3e6b0mwQ

Gets 60FPS in Overwatch with just 64bit memory bus and 48GB/s of memory bandwidth

WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?
>>
>>60478547
128Bit
>>
>>60478536
https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GT-1030-2GH-LP-OC.html

https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GT-1030-2G-LP-OC.html

MSI cards have DP1.4 port
>>
>>60478559
No, GT 1030 only has 64bit memory bus

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-1030/specifications

>Memory Interface Width 64-bit
>Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 48
>>
>>60478571
Interesting, must have mixed it up with the RX550, thought the RX550 had 64Bit
>>
>>60478440
HTPC
>>
>>60478440
Wonder how much you can OC this baby.
>>
>>60478547
shit the xbox one only has 68GB/s and it plays that shitty titty title just fine
>>
>>60478560
>"OC"
>"low profile"
>passive cooling

what?
>>
>>60478560
The fanless one actually looks appealing. It's just not single-slot.
>>
>>60478594
Your guess is as good as mine

But only MSI cards have DP1.4 port so it can output 4K 120Hz or 5K 60Hz off a single DP1.4 cable to a DP1.4 monitor, most other vendors went for the outdated legacy DVI-D which is single link only and max res 1920x1080/1200
>>
>>60478547
>shitty game that can be run on a hd 4000 run perfectly fine on this slightly better gpu
okay
>>
so shitty pre-builts can be branded OMG GEFOERC BEST GRAPH0X
>>
>>60479040
I just had to go through videos about the hd4000 and the hd4000 is craptastic.
>>
>>60479082
I run ow at 30+ fps on my T430
>>
they're bringing back ultra low end gpus because there are consumer level cpus that ship without an igpu again
>>
So instead of buying a 100$ or more 750ti that's single slot I can buy this and achieve the same or better performance?

wtf i love nvidia now
>>
>>60478440
Why not?
>>
>>60479055

That's right. Tends to happen at stores in my country (of which economy has been crap for years) where they sell piss entry-level shit bundled "4 gaymen" at a ~$700 price tag.
>>
>>60479152
pretty much the RX550 does the same thing as well as the 1030 its all for office and HTPC
because cheapo rigs are a thing.
>>
If this thing cost $10-$20 more than a R7 240 in my country, don't see it will dominate the internet cafe market.
But some of those owners actually tech illiterate like how they still buying GTX 210 with AMD CPU instead of going with G4560 iGPU in current year.
>>
I played all the relevant games on my FX5200 back in the day

but resolutions were smaller back then
>>
>>60479281
I see, that's good to know
>>
If I don't have an igpu and wanted to do you pass though so I can fully switch to Linux would I be someone who would buy this card?
ATM I have a 970, reason for GPU passthrough is I play a single game with a friend infrequently and would prefer Linux to be my main os
>>
>>60480075
No, you would go buy second hand card that is 50% better for 50% less.
>>
>>60480112
Werks 4 me. Think my buddy has a 750ti, I'm going to assume that'll work
>>
would this be any good for an eGPU?
>>
>>60480213
No.
>>
>>60478440
This is for HTPCs and CPUs with no iGPU. And in any case the RX 550 is signinficantly more powerful for the same price.
>>
>>60478560
>fanless
whoa
I would've bought one if it wasn't nvidia and had 2 hdmi/dvi ports
>>
It's for latin America countries like Brazil, and east Europeans, where people have shit salaries and pay obscene taxes

I had a class in Uni that focused on computer maintenance, they used some of these little shits for parts when teaching people to assemble and disassemble computers. Nobody would really give a shit if they broke one of them.

They're useful as educational tools I guess.
>>
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137140

Should I buy this, /g/?

8K HEVC hardware decoding & VP9 hardware decoding
DisplayPort 1.4 4K 60-120Hz & 5K 60Hz support
HDMI 2.0b 4K 60Hz
Passive cooling, no noise
>>
>>60482668
Is your goal at the end of the day just no noise?
>>
>>60478528
those are still mostly using 960's/970's
why would they downgrade?
>>
>>60482951
>those are still mostly using 960's/970's
lol no,
Nvidia icafe highest card package was 950, 960 is for premium.
Most popular option is the 750ti and 730.

I own two net cafe for almost ten years, so I know this.
>>
>>60482634
They might've looked the same but were probably way older and crappier.
>>
>>60478440
now the $150 i spent on a 470 for 4k60 video playback on my tv looks stupid. oh well
>>
>>60483021
you own some crap ones then
>>
>>60482634
You had a class in Uni that used cards that were just released two days ago?
>>
>>60484095
Low profile cards like this have been around for a long time.

Hell, I had a 8400gs years ago that was roughly the same size. It used passive cooling and everything.
>>
>>60484156
No shit, that is not what I was getting at. That anon said that their Uni class used these. Which is a blatant lie.
>>
>>60478440
You can throw that into a dumpster 775 dell with a 7 bucks xeon and get a decent computer, I guess
>>
>>60483841

You talking about ASIAN net cafe here, not PCbang you dumb fuck.
>>
Is it better than the HD 5750 1 GB model?
>>
>>60484841
>HD 5750
around 80% faster
>>
>>60478547
Its not the bus-width, its the memory bandwith itself
My GT 530 is 128bit but only reaches 28.8 GB/s
GDDR5 64-bit is still faster
