No. Rather it will create new classes: the employable and the unemployable. Basic income means people will survive.

AI and bots are probably inevitable. And perhaps in 20 years we will have intelligent humanoid companion robots that take care of the chores.

It doesn't have to be all bad. I used to be a researcher until the low salary meant the problem of paying back my student loans meant I had to leave. With basic income we can pursue our interests in life, in my case it would have meant I could have remained a low paid researcher.
