Why is Mobzilla Fingerblaster trying to push political agendas? Why are technology compenies so enthralled by politics today?
>>
because an open internet with free communication between users and the ability for anyone to make a website is kinda important for a search engine.

They got BTFO on the technology side, so now they have to pretend they're still relevant as some sort of internet activism group

The only thing net neutrality will do is to make sure that if you have a data cap you can't get any additional services that don't count under the cap like free netflix or youtube or whatever.

I don't understand why anyone who isn't looking to screw the consumer would be against net neutrality. It basically says packets are packets, and should all be treated the same. You can't slow them down or block them based on origin, destination, or content. It keeps the internet a level playing field, instead of being biased towards the interests of the few large ISPs that dominate 99% of America.
>>
>>60465277
Because they don't have a real opinion on the matter.

They will support whatever decision Trump makes even if it goes against their interests or beliefs because they convinced themselves that not supporting him makes them a liberal transgender "cuck"; whatever that means.

I know I am making the "/pol/ is one person" fallacy, but it seems to me that mostly right-wingers from /pol/ are against net neutrality, especially in this thread. I'd think that nat-soc folks shouldn't be against net neutrality, right? Last time I checked they were against corporate kikes judging which network packets should have (((special))) treatment. I'm hoping that it's just the lolbertarians shitposting here.

>>60465903
/pol/ is made up of natsoc, libertarians and ancaps, and traditional conservatives. The libertarian/ancap crowd is against net neutrality like any regulation that could allow the gooberment to overreach, but they also forget that small government is currently blocking regional competition and most towns in American only have one cable provider.
>>
>>60465937
NN wouldn't need to exist if only allowing one ISP and one cable company in a city or town was illegal.

(((They))) do allow more than one comapny. By which I mean those jews in municipal government don't hard block late comers, they just enforce high costs and restrictive regulations when a company wants to lay lines in the ground or use existing public utility. Google fiber broke into certain locations just by paying out the ass, though some cities actually invited Google in because they smelled the opportunity of gentrification.
>>
>>60466097
Some cities do have laws only allowing one cable and one ISP because of special deals.

>>60464363

Are you fucking retarded?

... That's not how it works.

It means that ISPs won't be able to sell your internet history (hint: this is bad). It means that ISPs won't be able to charge content hosts and creators THAT YOU LIKE (read: Netflix etc) an additional fee (disguised under whatever pretense) to keep bandwidth to their servers prioritised rather than their rival's. And make no mistake, this 'fee' WILL GET PASSED ONTO YOU. Leaving only your ISP's pockets richer. That's just a hint of the shenanigans that neutrality helps to ward off.
>>
>>60464363

>>60465277
I'm no /pol/ but when I see multinational corporations with a huge rapsheet on tax evasion, antitrust law violations, ties with governments and corrupt fake news mainstream media and multiple instances of bad security and badly written proprietary software like apple, microsoft, google, facebook, twitter, etc support something (in this case "net neutrality") I'm automatically sceptical against it.

The point being I'm not going to defend their position and become a pawn in their schemes. For me and the people to win they have to loose.

Fuck them, they already have their greedy claws inside the corrupts governments and intergovernmental organizations anyway, I'm not going to provide them with an alibi to step on my rights. I don't support globalism

Fuck net neutrality

If "web design" wasn't the javascript powered bloated mess that it is we wouldn't need net neutrality and data caps because web pages wouldn't need 50MB of random ever changing libraries to display a paragraph of text

Screw net neutrality. Net neutrality ends up supporting the current sorry state of "web design" because there is no incentive for light weight web sites
>>
>>60467880

Web pages aren't the problem anon, it's video streaming. More specifically, ISPs (who also sell you video content) don't want to put the money into improving their networks just to help Netflix and friends.
>>
>>60467880

Gotta love it when I visit a mainstream website and noscript brings up a list with a scrollbar
>>
>>60464197
Internet is infrastructure. You cannot have functional deregulated infrastructure.
Only stupid people think the internet can work without net neutrality. ISP are constantly trying to give you less than you paid for and they WILL abuse an unregulated internet the moment they are allowed to.
>>
>>60464197
Net neutrality is the result of "copyright" laws
>100 users on an isp want to watch a shitty movie
>100 users should redownload the shitty drm encrypted movie from netflix
>hur-dur-dur, we need net neutrality because piracy is bad, okay?

Without "copyright" laws
>100 users on an isp want to watch a shitty movie
>1 users downloads it and uploads it to his ftp server
>"hey guys, I downloaded a shitty movie, do you want to grab it from ftp?"
>only one copy of the shitty movie gets downloaded, the channel remains free for communication and research
