I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're referring to as shit/linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!

Linux is the shit. Using it to fix a windows 7 machine at the moment. I use it on my daily driver and it doesn't require a windows machine to fix it ever. Take that windows fan boys. You like the applications that run in windows. I have yet to meet anyone that actually likes windows.

because nobody likes Windows they just tolerate it, with Windows 98 I was willing to make the jump to Linux at that time and was digging around with Knoppix, but that never happened, because Linux was shit back. Fast-forward to Windows XP, I actually like this quite a bit over Windows 98 the never really thought of using Linux over it. Granted this was still an I tolerate it less than I love it.

A bit further down the line I got a solid-state drive and I got Windows 7 at the same time, at first it had a few features that I commonly use them Windows XP that were no longer part of 7, but the replacement features made it workable. I've never once thought of moving the Linux off of Windows 7, mostly because Windows 7 typically just works. There are the rare few occasions where there is a bug and there's no answer for what the fuck I need to do and it takes me a while to fix it, but I've never need to use a command line, I've never needed to troll around elitist forms the figure what to do, I've never had multiple daylong processes of learning what the fuck is going on with the bear operating system alone. For the most part Windows has been out of the way and I haven't had to focus on it at all I get to you just use the hardware, that's really all I can ask for.

All I want is the operating system to stay the fuck out of my goddamn way.
Windows 98 failed at that
Windows XP succeeded
Windows 7 succeeded far better in that regard

Windows 8 and Windows 10 both fail in that way where the operating systems no longer out of your face.

I'm sure if I could deal with using only software that was made specifically for Linux I could like modern Linux, but I don't want to fucking use wine just to be able to do something that I consider a necessity. I might move over to Linux if I ever femme forced to use Windows 10 just so I can condom the OS, but beyond that I don't consider Linux an option
