Just kidding. I got it last week, and I already assembled it. I know that some of these kit guitars are awful and a nightmare to get together in a playable manner, but this one actually wasn't too bad. The neck fit in snuggly, is straight, and all the frets are leveled and polished (first time I saw something like that straight from the factory at this price point). Most of the issues were with the cavity routing, but it wasn't anything that the dremel could not fix.

The guitar could use a retaining bar above the nut, and the electronics could be better, but aren't too bad. I'll replace and add that stuff eventually though. I ended up blocking off the flyod rose for now, since I just wanted to get it playing and didn't really feel like setting it up.

Overall, the guitar is pretty decent for the price.

I work at a small shop that works on and sells chink guitars, we process about 100 of them a month. I work within hearing distance of the guys that work on these and you would not believe the amount of swearing and racial slurs coming from them.

The most common problems: the neck isn't straight (80% of guitars), there is string buzz coming from nowhere (50% of guitars), awful cosmetic flaws (dings, finish cracks, etc, 20% of guitars)

Then every 50 instruments or so we get one that's totally fucked and we have to send it back (broken truss rod, bridge installed in wrong place, electronics fucked, etc)

any specific e27 or e14 led lightbulbs worth buying or are they all mostly good?

The body is made out of basswood with a maple veneer, and the neck is made out of maple as well. I also purchased two different types of locking strap posts off of aliexpress, both of which are mounted on the guitar. The one on the top is a schaller clone (I think), while the one on the bottom seems to be somewhat based on a dunlop straplok. I would recommend the schaller based one over the dunlop based one, although its a bit taller it is less mechanically complicated then the other one, which uses a ball bearing mechanism that occasionally gets stuck and is xbox huge.

after 4 years I decided to finally replace it and got the bottom

I spent slightly more than $160, the guitar itself was $140, the dyes I used were around $14, and polyurethane to finish the neck and body was another $10. I already had some of the stuff needed lying around from previous projects as well. It could have been done for cheaper if I had painted instead, and used one type of poly, but painting it wouldn't look as good.

I'll also post a picture of the strap locks with this comment because I realized they're not in the other picture. The style on the right is better IMO. Both types can be found on Ali for $3 for a pair.

Just a tip, I wanted a bluetooth speaker and what I ended up with was a used stereo system and a $16 UGreen Bluetooth 4.0 adapter with RCA plugs.

Generally, if you are buying a BT speaker or adapter then make sure it support AAC for audio for the audio quality will be garbage. If it says it's BT 2.0 not BT 4.0 then it probably doesn't have this codec. Also, all BT speakers are small, like those PC speakers you can buy in a similar price-range. Tiny speakers just ain't going to give you the same quality as real speakers connected to a real stereo amplifier or receiver.
