It's a very beautiful DE. ESPECIALLY if you like the flat look. I'm not a fan of the flat design so much, but I fiddled a lot with the daily builds and it was quite beautiful. I found the dock quite annoying though, but I'm a GNOME user.

technical reasons needed
I like it
it's still in development and they're planning on moving to Qt, and changing a bunch of stuff
I'm using it right now and I get a bit of visual bugs with the panels sometimes, but otherwise it's solid
plus with Budgie 11: they're planning on adding a lot to the Raven menu like weather & RSS

Stuff like the alt F2 menu,
and one application menu one, that I can't seem to reproduce now - maybe it's been fixed
other then that, it is solid, try the Evopop theme with it

It's a really nice DE and very refreshing comparing it to other conventional DEs
It's stable, sleek and Raven gives it a nice touch
Didn't try it with ubuntu but i highly recommend trying out Solus
