Just a quick question, because either I am doing something wrong or it is a bit hard to find. What is the best offline bitcoin wallet? So far by my options it seem to be Armory, I am asking because someone was going to donate me 0,50bitcoin and I thought about storing it offline as I might not use it for a good time.
And extra question: if I wanted to mine on a "normal" computer I probably would need at minimum 2 very fast high end GPUs or purchase these mining machines right?
Bitcoin mining is pretty much never worth it.
Armory is pretty good, I use it
Don't mine

Not him, but, why not?
Bitcoin-qt. Takes 48h to sync on my machine, 140GB total. Set the flag -datadir=data and make a folder called data to have a portable version.

Bitcoin mining stopped being worth it when large corporations took over and started setting up 'mining farms'.

Mining isn't really feasible anymore for profit but, if you have a PC a decent graphics card you can still make some money (Bitcoin) using a service called nicehash. Sadly, it's only on Windows but, I make about 5 to 6 bucks off my 1080 and 570

6 bucks per what?

Day

That's pretty nice family. I've got a 1080 too, I was previously running Einstein@Home on it. Might switch.

I've seen the 1080 earn up to 6 bucks a day but, now it's like 3.50 to 4.50 bucks a day but it still makes me money so I mine

I got the 570 for like 170 which was pretty good deal but with etheruem rising in price so has the difficulty so it only makes about 2.20 a day

Honestly even if I lose money it would be nice to have some petty cash in Bitcoin.

Calculator says that's over 3M Mhash/s, but it looks like the 1080 is only good for 1k Mhash/s. What gives?

What?>>60435643
