See in the consumer market there wouldn't be much of a difference between a seven core and an eight core or seven core and a six core but there's not enough money in between each one of those to really justify putting that out instead of just making bigger jumps. Nvidia has no actual reason to ever improve their rivals position in the market, if Nvidia helps AMD with making their CPUs look good then it gives AMD money which they can use as R&D to make a GPU that can dethrone Nvidia, or at the very least compete with Nvidia in the professional marketplace

DirectX 11 wasn't well threaded, but the ability was there this loops back over the shitty developers, DirectX 12 was created almost exclusively because Vulcan was happening. Remember the first demo for DirectX 12 in the only feature they had planned was better texture streaming for consoles.
And because Intel is dominant for so long, most compilers in most programs are made Intel first and well fuck it they work on AMD. Soon the going to be compiled to make sure they work with Intel and AMD and that's when AMD is going to really shine.

And as for the CPU being shit I have a 1700, not even overclocked yet, performs above and beyond my expectations every single time I use it, and it's only gonna get better.
