Why do internet browsers require 1GB memory.
>>60424061
Also this is only with 3 tabs open, all of which are 4chan threads.
They don't *require* it, they just use what's available. RAM is there to be used, mongoloid.
>>60424070
>They don't *require* it
So they do, otherwise it wouldn't be 1GB.
> they just use what's available
Are you saying it somehow detects my memory total then uses it based on that amount?
>RAM is there to be used
>Ram is to be used, so let's use up 25%(modern user has 4GB ram). Fuck whatever else the user has running.
This is cancerous logic and I hope you never are in charge of designing anything.
Faster hardware and internet has made web and program coders lazy
>>60424138
Pretty much.
I mean it's insane that a web browser is using twice as much as a fucking 3D game dev editor.
Just bloat my shit up senpai.
>>60424070
Clearly they don't or they'd fill all 12 GB.
they don't it's the pages themselves that use most of the memory
>>60424061
only webkit/blink ones do
firefox does not have this problem
>>60424121
>Are you saying it somehow detects my memory total then uses it based on that amount?
No, but your OS "somehow" detects your memory total and assigns it to programs.
>>60424121
>>60424175
You're just showing how absolutely clueless about technology you are.
>>60424121
>Are you saying it somehow detects my memory total then uses it based on that amount?
Indirectly, yeah. Try running a VM with only 1 GB of memory and see the difference.
Also use the documentation if you want to know what actually fills out that gigabyte of memory – I bet it's a large amount of tabs (and therefore web pages with a huge DOM and Javascript each) and/or extensions.

Nice argument you have there.
>>60425254
That wasn't an argument, sperglord. It was just a statement of fact.
>>60424061
Polarity browser uses like 4MB per open page, how come most mainstream browsers use 150+ MB per page?
>>60424061
>using Firefox in [current year]
Since they got rid of all the good programmers it's gone to absolute shit
>>60424121
>modern user has 4gb of ram
What year do you live in?
