/g/, do any of you use this programming language? If so, is it more useful than batch or any other language?
seems no one in /g/ is using it

Had to use it once at work, it's shit and basically dead

I prefer it over batch since you can do graphical windows with it, I think it has all the functionality of batch as well. I learned it and batch many years ago as my first languages since I didn't know any better, wish I hadn't wasted my time. It is basically dead, you're better off using autoit or python for whatever you need.

I use it for login scripts at work. It's a shit language and should only be used for extremely simple tasks
It's not a programming language, but I use it for the following:
A scheduled task that visits a a web page for maintainance
Some backup scripts, using a neat function that allows you to hide a Windows
But I wouldn't recommend it, better off using power shell scripts, more coherent and with better documentation
I only use it to automatically run a billion VBA scripts on a bunch excel templates that the accountants send us. Otherwise I don't see much use for it over other languages

More useful than Batch for sure. PowerShell is probably better.
I use it for:
ODBC calls (database calls)
WMI access (PC maintenance; Registry editing)
Decent logic handling (vs Batch)
Basic UI windows

ISHYGDDT
It's 2017 and this ancient bullshit has been replaced by powershell
>>60419114
had to use it years ago for work
for the love of god, use powershell if you can
BTW where to learn batch?
I need to
I'm tired of hacking stackoverflow examples all the time without understanding all the parameters and limitations

I remember kids making using vbs in high-school and distributing. People when someone wasn't watching would open the script and they'd do annoying shit like open a tonne of dialogue boxes.
