Horrible Linux misuse screen fetch thread.

I still don't get why people uses desktop at all. I have a beautiful wallpaper that I only see when I log in, the rest of the day is covered on Windows and Terminals... What I'm missing?

I'm on Arch too and I just gave KDE a shot today for the first time since last summer. It's kinda nice so far. It doesn't have parts that are falling apart left and right which is a huge change in my experience. And the RAM usage is impressive, hovers between 600mb to 700mb with nothing open. That's actually slightly better than MATE and way better than Gnome with it's 1.5gb ram usage on boot. I'll give it a test drive for a week and see if it keeps it together. If it does, I might finally ditch MATE on my powerful desktop.

My previous computer.
XFCE, really liked it, but it does not support HiDPI and I had to switch to KDE on new one. Also there were GTK3 scaling artefacts in many applications.
I believe dark themes and lack of window animations may make you depressive.
