It just needs light, as long as it is a bright day you can chuck it in the shade and it will start charge quick enough. Just don't be a retard and put it in pitch darkness. I've charged batteries by placing a solar charger on my windowsill indoors where it doesn't get hot.

Other places genuinely stay cold even in direct sunlight such as the UK, where it can be the brightest fucking day but you still need three layers and a jacket

I know most people these days can't into basic logic but this is the same as waterproof phones. Yeah you can drop it in the pool or shallow water but don't go diving with it and expect it work.
