Anything but Mint. You're getting trolled Anon. Also stay away from Gentoo and Arch. Gentoo is pointless, and Arch is for fags who want to pretend they're elite, but aren't.

Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, Fedora, Manjaro, Deepin, PCLinuxOS, those are some distros to look at.
>>
>wannacry incident
So the Never Updates Incident?

Ubuntu, since it'll nag you to update all the time.
>>
>>60399274
yoooooo "le gentoo guy" xdd who unironically uses it and doesn't have a 4 page tl;dr on why he doesn't use it face
>>
Because you're coming for Windows I'd recommend either Linux Mint or Debian. Both are pretty normie friendly unlike something like Gentoo.

Mint is trash. Use Ubuntu or it flavors. Fedora or Debian if you want something different.

Honest to fucking god ransomware developers are some of the most evil fucking cunts on the planet save violent crimes. Think about the files that could be lost, and how most of their victims are the elderly. People are losing irreplaceable files like pictures of dead loved ones, historical documents, possibly their lives work if they happen to be an artist or a photographer, and even their livelihoods if their job depends on those files, all so some sociopath teenager in some second world shithole can get rich quick of the backs of thousands. And now with this latest attack its actually risking lives due to the level of systems effected. It's that level of complete disregard towards literally every single other person on this planet that disgusts me the most. Karma is a bitch and I hope that it comes down hard on those motherfuckers.

People will tell you here to install linux distros which require some knowledge in linux... i.e. ubuntu, linux mint, gentoo, debian... All these are meme distributions.

Most user friendly and pretty much windows like distribution would be SourceMage, great community, great distribution.

Install SourceMage.
>>
yesterday after having some problems with the filesystem just because im retarded i got to work manjaro in my laptop with a win7 dualboot and it works even better. The problem are the 10 Gb win7 uses vs the 40 Gb manjaro uses but as long it doesesn't fail to me (which it hasn't happened yet). I must say that it was my first time using or installing a gnu/linux distro and it was easy and fast. Also in manjaro you dont need any kind of programing knowledge because you got a graphic interface for everything so it may be an option for you
>>

Stop shilling bullshit

On Ubuntu based systems you can download more ram by running:
apt install zram-config

It reserves part of your memory as a compressed swap thus reducing the need to use disk swap. It was originally developed for Android and is quite useful on the desktop too although for some reason they don't flip it on by default.

you're going to install gentoo eventually, after distro-hopping endlessly. Might as well just skip the distro-hopping and just install gentoo now.
