So we all know Android devices are superior in most cases, but lets end the circle jerk for a moment and look Android's flaws.
To name a few:
>nonproprietary and thus filled with multiple uncooperating entities producing phones
>presumable competition between manufacturers, but instead Galaxy and Google fight amongst themselves instead of optimizing as a whole against iOS
>UI is generally not as aesthetically pleasing as iOS on stock Android
>Software updates depend on manufacturers, and even then sometimes "flagship" phones don't get consistent updates
>Open source for a multitude of android flavours, which is a good thing however forces app developers to make generic one size fits all software
Your thoughts? What handset do you use and why?
ZTE Pro 2 because cheap. Wish Ubuntu mobile or some other open setup would come out but likely that will never happen. Wish I would have done my research to know there is no root though

>all of those problems go away
nah i like the UI, only problem is it isn't FOSS and even with Replicant OS there are still binary blobs left. I will just switch to dumb phone and """ make""" a odroid xu4 powered tablet, i wish running GNU/Linux on tablets for fucking years but they never did it.
Currently using S4 mini, my first smartphone
The aesthetically pleasing part is complete bullshit first of all.
Why does everyone always miss the whole point of a phone for each person. If you want the best and purest Android experience buy a pixel/Nexus device. If you want more bells and whistles buy a Samsung, lg, or htc. If you want a piece of shit burner buy anything else.

Lol, you're just a dumb developer.

New album when. Reee.
>UI is generally not as aesthetically pleasing as iOS on stock Android
Haha, lol no. Stock Android looks clean, straight forward and makes good use of colors for contrast.
iOS however simply throws gaussian blur everywhere to make stuff look 'cleaner' without any proper use of whitespace, has bad font sizing, not to mention iOS icons are a mix of 2009 grandients and 2012 flat shit, no consistency whatsoever.
And holy shit, did they fuck it up even more in the recent versions (aka iOS10). Before, notifications and alerts etc. all simply were placed in front of the dimmed wallpaper with a thin line between them, looked somewhat acceptable. Now, every fucking Notification is placed in its own ugly, white, blurry bubble taking up huge amounts of space, perfect example of form over function.
