What is with this trend of heug 1080p monitors? 24 in. and 27 in. FHD monitors, why? The ppi is abysmal, they're pointless for gaming since the pixels are visible at typical monitor distance, yet you see "gaming monitors" everywhere now at 1080p/144Hz at 27in. which looks awful. I don't get it, unless you're a content creator and need pixel perfect editing, a 27 in. FHD monitor is awful yet people are apparently buying them.

Try moving the monitor back more than a foot you myopic nerd.

i use a 27 inch FHD with wide gamut AdobeRGB accuracy for photo editing, im zoomed into pixel level anyways.

Because lots of people don't know any better.
>>
What trend? If anything the current trend is towards greater pixel density.

I juststarted a new job, and they gave this huge Asus 27 Inch monitor that is 1280x1080. I had to literally look up it's specs because I had a hard time believing it was running native resolution.

It's fucking horrible. I run 24" 1920x1200 at home, and it's like a fucking retina display compares to this ugly monstrosity.

If you go to Microcenter or a lot of online stores there are still a shit ton of new 1080p monitors, especially high refresh rate, gsynce or freesync or ultrawide. What I don't get is why someone would pay a premium for a 1080p monitor at this point in time.
>>
>>60352922
I don't understand why anyone would ever buy a 1080p monitor especially since 1280x1024 was the dominant resolution.
>>
>>60352961
A lot of laptops used 1366x768 so 1920x1080 is a noticeable upgrade.
>>

i've had a 27 inch FHD monitor since like 2008
it's not a "trend", the screen is just more than arm's length away at seated position
