So I'm making an FX build before the FX cpus disappear and I want some feedback from any anons out there willing to help.

My primary goal is to have a system for Qubes OS. And according to the qubes website, this means having AMD-V with RVI and AMD-VI... now, according to my research the FX processors do have this... BUT, some am3 motherboards dont support these features.

According to this:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IOMMU-supporting_hardware#Motherboards_2

The Sabertooth mobo has good support (xen being the most important element for qubes os afaik.) But that list im sure is not complete so any more ideas on the motherboard I should go with would be great!

WTF you have almost the exact same specs as me.
>>
but why tho? Ryzen is out and it's good. I almost bought an fx last year but managed to wait (tm).

Whatever you do, don't get a gigabyte. Had an GA-970A-UD3P, what a piece of shit. It basically ran hotter than the damn CPU (the CPU was usually below 50) and the iommu was fucked on hardware level, I would get really weird errors trying to install linux, until I figured it out. Also they pushed out a rev 3 version, and the support for the first revision was non existant, there was only ever 1 single BIOS for it. They probably fucked it up so hard, they thought it would be easier to just release a new damn motherboard instead of fixing it in firmware.

because ryzen has PSP = botnet.

What's a good brand now
Keep in hearing about asrock but they were foxconn tier back as early as 2009
>>
>>60350531
Just build a router without any backdoors and youre golden to filter out botnet packets

jesus christ how fucking poor are you?

AM3 and an FX? holy fucking shit it's 2017

Same guy, have a ryzen 1700 and an asrock killer, no problems yet. The first bios version it had was potato tier, but after I updated in april it's bretty good
