>Improve the modern day turbocharger
the fan now spins faster.
>>60338078
Comprex pressure wave supercharger
done
>>60338110
Twin screw a shit. Only roots blowers are worse.
>>60338169
>pumping exhaust into the engine
Sure is an improvement
The fastest cars around a track you can buy today are all naturally aspirated.
>Porsche 918
>Viper ACR
>Huracan Performante
They also dilute engine noise and response, and only get better fuel economy if you drive like a grandpa. Turbos can fuck off.
How would a naturally aspirated car work in a low air pressure environment
>>60338369
Poorly
>>60338303
>Radical RXC Turbo 500R
>Ford GT
>Regera
This is obviously assuming we don't include the fastest motorsport on the planet, Formula 1, or the next fastest, IndyCar, or the next fastest, WTAC.
>>60338375
So it'd be shit on Mars; That's why Musk has a hard-on for electric cars.
>>60338414
No, you just have to use a self-oxidizing fuel like nitromethane. What could possibly go wrong?
>>60338169
>ram jet
because cars can go mach speed.
>>60338429
Of course they can. How else are you going to enter the Eighth Dimension?
>>60338429
he asked for an improvement on forced air injection. i gave him one.
>>60338110
Superchargers only leech power from the engine, dipshit. Turbos use otherwise wasted exhaust gas heat energy for a free gain in engine power density.
>>60338078
Use regenerative braking to spool the turbine.
>>60338110
>>60338078
Add an inlet funnel for improved air path. Also, somehow get rid of the mounting nut to add an inlet come. Im sure that nut creates a turbulent airflow. For the most part, just improve aerodynamics.
>>60338527
Yes, but the exhaust backpressure of the turbine creates losses as well. A centrifugal supercharger actually has less net loss than a turbocharger, although they're shit for anything but poorfags and dyno queens.
>>60338576
Cone*
Have an electric motor spool the turbo
But with an electric motor spoiling the turbo like the modern indy cars one would add clutter and more weight to the car
>>60338635
Plus, they spoil up pretty damn quick anyway.
>>60338078
Add some RGB LEDs
>>60338635
>an electric motor spoiling the turbo like the modern indy cars
IndyCars use Borg Warner EFR7163 turbos. No electric motor involved.
>>60338078
Replace the fan with a Noctua Premium-Quality Fan.
>>60338078
>>60338110
done
>>60338470
You dont have a clue on how turbochargers work, right?
Change the air pressure at sea level worldwide
Easy improvement OP
>>60338110
>not a centrifugal supercharger
>>60338470
they asked for an improvement on turbochargers, there are some assumptions you should be making
>>60338078
You attach a belt to it and call it a Paxton SuperTurbo.
>>60338078
How about you finally find a solution to the 2-stroke problem faggot. If you can make 2-stroke engines run without additional mixed oil then we can come a lot further.
>>60338078
Always thought this could have been improved more the idea seemed great.
>>60340156
Direct injection and full ceramic bearings.
>>60340156
two stroke is too dirty, and pollutes too much to gain any traction these days
>>60338527
You clearly have never taken a thermo class if you think there is no loss of energy cause by the turbocharger.
>>60340826
are you trying to say the turbocharger causes enough backpressure to impede the operation of an engine?
>Silly Idea #1
a mechanical compressor that actuates under deceleration (engine braking) to assist braking and charge a tank that injects high pressure air to the exhaust turbine spooling the turbo at lower rpm.
>Silly Idea #2
Assemble multiple smaller turbines in the same housing, a rotary valve controls inlet flow allowing you to run on a single core or multiple as load and rpm demanded.
>4 turbine cores is not recommended for enthusiast performance in 2017.
>>60338078
I put the crank case gasses just before the turbo. The crank case gasses ignite causing an after burner effect.
It's good for around 3/4ths a mile at 40-50 psi boost before meltdown.
>>60340865
>a tank that injects high pressure air to the exhaust turbine spooling the turbo at lower rpm.
>Assemble multiple smaller turbines in the same housing, a rotary valve controls inlet flow allowing you to run on a single core or multiple as load and rpm demanded.
That's somewhat a thing already.
They use a smaller turbo to spool up a larger one.
>>60338078
Not green enough. Attach a little windmill to the spinny thing so it goes faster the faster the car goes.
>tfw want to go giant tarbo
like ridiculous spool time lag big
>>60340999
Mine doesn't spool until 4000rpm
>>60338078
>>Improve the modern day turbocharger
Use a fucking Atkinson cycle instead of an Otto cycle and not waste all that energy into the exhaust to begin with.
