I can run BF4 on a core 2 extreme with a GTX670 on 3 screens so I don't see why you need to upgrade unless whatever you're doing demands greater CPU power.

Probably easier to buy a new video card or SSD (get a pcie) if those make sense and if you still need more CPU power they'll come along for that ride too.

Just go get a Core i5 2500k with a nice motherboard and you'll be fine. Over clock the hell out of it though

in the future when I go to upgrade, is there anything I should know about i5 vs i7? I feel like i7 is the right choice but it's not like I'm doing ridiculous processing tasks or some such. I've also gotten by fine with my current processor since it came out, and I can only see modern i5s as extreme upgrades in comparison, even the lower end ones. suggestions? I wish to make use of DDR4 RAM at some point.
