The last information about that is from 2010, but the 64-bit version is definitely built in Lazarus with FPC instead.

Internet speed is usually measured in bits not bytes, because it's a larger number to market with and most people don't know the difference.

And kilo = 1000 or 10^2 - Early computer scientists were retarded for using well established nomenclature to describe a different measurement.

Either way it doesn't matter what the OS displays to the user, whether it counts 1000 or 1024, because the amount of memory remains the same. I prefer 1000, because using kilo would be stupid otherwise.
>>
>>60311149
And just to clarify

Kb = kilobit
KB = kilobyte

8 bits are stored in every byte

I had been using v3.0.406.0 of clover for quite some time until I recently decided to upgrade.

Boy was that a terrible idea, took me a few minutes to get back on this version, 3.0.406.0...

Only issue I have with it is that it is constantly (every 2-3 minutes) phoning home to ejie.me or whatever the fuck it is, looking for updates and downloads some redirect HTML. Had to block it specifically on the firewall because there is no option to disable update checks with it.

When I was a kid, my dad always used Windows Commander (later renamed to total commander), so I also used it for everything

When I first went over to a friend's house, I was shocked they used explorer.

It still irritates me when I have to use a computer without totalcmd and I have to copy-paste files like it's a fucking Word document

yeah that's nice and all, but totalcmd has great features built-in or via plugin that aren't found in some other file managers..

-networking, ftp, s-ftp, ssh, web-browser, directory synchronization
-serial communication
-powerful search & selection system
-rename tool, encrypt tool, checksums
-any archive type known is supported

Also it responds like I expect it should, even if there are a million files in a folder. It's the first program I install on any new computer.

>>
>>60311070

- it is easy to develop with pascal and you can go down to the hardware-level of the machine if you want to do serious stuff like 3D-Rendering etc.
- can also compile c++-files
- making your own visual components is easy as fuck.
- has linux, windows, android and ios compiler.

styling is harder though but embarcadero catches up with that.
they also want to ship out free versions for schools.
>>
>>60316766

no, it's the SI systems
kilo, mega, peta etc are all powers of ten, not two

We use it at work a lot.

It's not bad do be honest if you have to use Windows (which I do). The split and tabs help you with moving files from one place to another and the locations can be remote, like over FTP for example. I write embedded software so that's very useful.

It also has a lot of convenience functions like FTP (as I said), compression, checksums (which I also use a lot), searching (but it's not that good) etc. Another perk is that everyone at work uses it, so we are all used to the same interface which helps when communicating.

Is it better than a linux command line? No. But it does help if you use windows.
>>
>>60314240
in totalcmd I can type cd c:\ and press enter and it does exactly what you expect. I miss the good old times

I've tried at least 20 file managers over the years and nothing has come close to Total Commander

If it's either supported natively in the Lister (text, HTML, RTF, images, WAV/AVI) or as an extension, it also works in the Quick View Panel. Also there there's Thumbnail View as well.
