So even as someone with close o zero knowledge (I upgraded gfx card, RAM and some other stuff on a tower.. a decade ago) you still think it would be better to buy individual parts?

I mostly browse the internet (30+ open tabs in chrome cuz I'm autistic), do university work and play old videogames.

The only "newer" games I want to play are Civ 6 and others in that league.. I suppose for that you'd need a decent CPU, GFX and about 8gb of RAM? Does that sound realistic?

I also still have a laptop (where I'm posting from now) that I will use mostly for downloading/playing music/travelling after buying my destkop.

I would not be opposed to buying a used PC, thanks for the suggestion. Generally don't like buying on eBay too much but whatever.

Building your own custom one is way cheaper. I mean I built mine despite the fact that I'm a mason and dropped out of high school in grade 10.

If I can do it then so can you. In the end it's like putting together lego pieces.
