Is it better to learn from AMD's or Intel's Programmer's Manuals?

The one that put "Cripple the other guy" functions in their compiler, of course.
>>60308176
Since AMD designed the instruction set I'd go for AMD's manuals.

I don't think that was ever the case.
Even their 5GHz FX-9590 chips worked fine on high-end air coolers.
>>60310350
Intel runs far hotter
Even the FX9590 runs cool compared to infernolake
>>60310498
Didnt they have to sell some of those bulldozers with only water cooling?
>>60310498
>>60310755
9590 was a 220 watt monster.

We all grew up with AMD housefire CPUs back in the day though, even if Intel is the true housefire nowadays since Ivy Bridge. The AMD housefire meme is a cultural thing for me.

Not sure but my NH D14 cooler was able to cool mine down to 77C while encoding video. Only got it because microcenter had the chip for $160 and I was currently on the FX-4300 ATM.
Plan to get an R7-1700 soon though. I hear you can crank it all the way to 4GHz on prime just with the stock cooler.

Indeed it was but for whatever reason my NH D14 can properly cool it. Heard you need high-end water cooler for the i7-7700K.
AMD must have done something right.
The important distinction between intel and AMD housefires is that the intel ones have great performance.

They just didn't put toothpaste under the lid.
>>60311371
except that 7700k is a great CPU whereas bulldozer was hot garbage

That thing is enormous.
