I've had an HP notebook, as my main workstation, for nearly 5 years now without problems. Well except for the MOBO frying once, but that was my fault for using wrong type of RAM -- thank god it was still under warranty.

Just sell it on ebay and build a custom desktop. Laptops are a fucking joke, if you desperately need portability that bad then surface pros exist for that.
