As the owner of a 1080, why would you consider the 1080ti in SLI?

I do hope you play something more demanding than CSGO or overmeme with that. I got a 6850k and an rx480, still play CSGO most of the time. I use the CPU for other things as well though, don't worry about that

i have a 980ti currently, would just go 1080ti sli for shits and giggles

i went from playing d2 to league to d3, overwatch, PU:BG, GTAV etc so my games are becoming slightly more demanding.

i like running everything on max, even though i'm only on two 1080p 144hz monitors, so it's not a huge waste of my time seeing as my 980ti still doesn't run things at 144 maxed out.

that being said, i don't max aa out because that's pointless obviously.

honestly i don't need the card but if i can sell off my 980ti classy for 250$ then it's a 550$ upgrade for 50-70% more performance, which isn't so bad.

i'm not interested in 4k until the games i play have huds that scale properly lol, but i wanna go for 1440p 165hz+ eventually. currently 1080p 144hz is doing me just fine though.

vega was not going to surpass the 1080 much less the 1080ti if the leaks are showing it's just going to match the 1070 essentially

i went amd for years, i'll wait for vega2 or whatever comes after that but i have a feeling i won't want to be upgrading from this card only a year from now. but for right now amd is falling behind so i am avoiding them like the plague

ryzen proved to be promising, hoping vega and eventually ryzen2 help them generate enough revenue to dump more R&D into better technology, they're playing catchup because of having to spend so much into ryzen, but that's okay.

it's not like i didn't consider vega, it's just that i don't find vega promising enough.
