If they're $15-20 I'd consider it. Not for gaming. Just extended monitor use. But I'd be better off buying a daylight globe. I think it's the contrast between the screen and room that does the harm.

This is correct. I've always gotten severe headaches from watching TV in a darkened room or even some cinema screens. On the flip side I've had marathon gaming sessions in brightly lit rooms with nary an issue.
I feel for people whose contacts dry out, or who strain to maintain focus on a close-up flat plane, but gaming glasses aren't going to fix either of those issues. They need to take regular breaks.
