Hi /g/ I'm a 19 year old newfag learning C++.
I had some previous notions on OO and data structures (Stack, Hash, Lists, etc) with Java, but C++ has more nuancies like memory management and pointer arithmetics that are over simplified on Java.
I'm reading C++ Primer book and coding the exercises on it. My question is, will be able to start small C++ projects like make a freecell game or graphical Finite State Machines simulations with this knowledge, or should I look for more advanced books before? Thanks in advance.

Should I stay away from OpenGL?

you will be able to do console stuff, but not graphical programming.

old opengl is pretty easy, modern opengl is too hardcore
Can Vulkan be used for GUI programming already?
