So, these guys are trying to get an open Windows clone up and running.
What's the prognosis here? Is there actually an opportunity to have something running Win programs natively, trimmer than Win7, with support for current-gen hardware?

vaporware

They just released 0.4.4 in February, though.
They've been working on their XP clone since XP was new, and haven't reached 1.0

They have been working on this for so many years and it is going nowhere.
Linux has more of a future because it actually bring something to the table wit it being structured somewhat like UNIX.
Tried DOSBox in it, it worked fine with my old DOS games. Of course, it was already in their repo, so I guess they tested it out already.
So, who wants to risk their ReactOS VM to test more modern emulators such as ePSXe, PCSX2, Project64, Dolphin, Cemu?

Not it!

It'll get obsolete when Microsoft open sources Windows

They're making good progress considering that they're basically tip toeing around the Windows EULA at this point. I think it's viable, but will probably not be viable "enough" for at least another couple of years.

It's not even XP level yet. Just install Linux and beg for native software. Stop clinging to a pile of shit that is windows ecosystem.
