I'm looking to get a chromebook and install GaliumOS on it. I was wondering what you guys would recommend and what your guys experience with chromebooks have been.

Sleep tight, pupper.

Aside from not having a CD Drive I don't think they are bad.
>>
Check the GalliumOS wiki for hardware compatibility. I'm running it on my Acer R11, and other than the no audio issue, I get better battery life than ChromeOS. Braswell models are kinda finicky, but most other models have fine support.

chromebook pixel just for that 3:2 screen
>>
I love my Samsung Chromebook Plus, but I can't say it's the best value for a Chromebook.

Just a heads up for OP though, GalliumOS doesn't support ARM devices.

I wish there was a cheap Chromebook with
>1080p display
>4gb ram
>expandable storage
Acer 14 is the closest thing to it but it doesn't have expandable storage.

Just get the highest Intel chip you can find, most RAM you can find, and a replaceable SSD. Chromebooks run Linux extremely well. The 11 inch models have amazing keyboards, way better than any dell or other netbook. I've yet to find a netbook with as big and spaced out keys than Chromebooks. And they tend to have bigger batteries than most netbooks.

And don't limit yourself to one distro they can literally run any distro.

Doesn't the pixel have all of those?
