When I have another particular reason to open it up, which is no more frequent than yearly. I barely have any dusting to do. Getting an air cleaner was a real game changer in this respect.

My vacuum cleaner, a fresh cleaning rag. The last time when I disassembled all parts (To install new MB+hardare) I put my case into the shower (Only the case without fans). It helped a lot and I'll probably do this again in late 2017 or early 2018.

I also hold my fans under streaming water, cautious that nothing drops into the fan motor. I did that with graphics cards fans too. You can remove anything and bathe or shower passive coolers.
