Does literally any podcast app hold a candle to Pocket Casts?
Idk but PodcastAddict is what I use and it's pretty shit. Why should I pick this one?

I kept trying to use Pocketcasts, but it kept glitching on me. Randomly stopped playing, randomly started playing, would spontaneously delete downloaded podcasts. Podcast addict is a battery drain, but at least it fucking works.
I used playerfm before, both are good in my opinion, not really much difference
Harmful proprietary software.

Slick interface, no ads because it costs money upfront, really good search/browse feature for finding podcasts, auto downloading and all that stuff, and it just works. I've never had any issues like what >>60238382 claims, I'd probably assume it's his phone before the app since I've used Pocket Casts on multiple devices for a while now without issue. Account syncing between the android and web client is really nice too, the web client also being slick.
Downsides being the price, I guess. Rougly $5 for the mobile clients, and $9 for the web client. Buying one doesn't get you the others. I can totally see this hanging people up, but I honestly don't regret spending a little bit of money for good podcast software since I use it daily. Beats ad infested apps any day.

Weird, I have similar issues with PodcastAddict. No deletion but I find it buggy especially when it comes to streaming and downloads. Most annoying thing is that it doesn't save the location it was at when I last listened and is always about 15 minutes behind, and I really don't like having to adjust the play bar while I'm driving. Streaming over LTE sucks too, and it repeats shit over and over again.

4chan is proprietary.

I've tried them all. Overcast is by far the best.

i like it even if >>60238448
Antennapod is free, opensource and can stream from itunes and direct urls (and a couple of other sources) the design isnt as slick tho
My stats

My only gripe with it is having to subscribe to podcasts before being able to download episodes. Sometimes I just want to check out a new show, not subscribe, download and unsubscribe again. I still use it every day.

Well, time to find a new podcast app.

It's probably my phone, which is unfortunate because I really wanted to like this app.
No, now /thread this uninspired post and make /g/ great again. Shillposting is reaching critical levels.
>podcasts
I've always wanted to get into these but it's like I can never find enough to warrant getting an app for them.
