I was recently given an older version of a Raspberry Pi from my uncle, and I'm looking for cool projects to do with it.
Taking recommendations, anything from turning it into an onion router to throwing it out the window and destroying it with a hammer.
I believe it's the first model, so needless to say I can't install Raspbian Jessie on to it. I've tried, and it didn't work.
Once again, taking recommendations, any cool project ideas will do.

Arch linux works the best on the pi's And is your bets option

Hook a 4TB external HDD up to it and set it up as a torrent box and local network file server.

Put some emulators and ROMs on it and hook it up to your TV in the living room for playing NES / SNES / gameboy advance games.
