KMSpico 10.2 still works fine. I use it on both Win 10 Enterprise build 1607, Server 2016, and Office 365 1703. Updates work fine albeit im running a SCCM server to control them manually.

Win7 won't install on Kaby Lake. I know from painful experience. Intel and MS colluded to gimp it

Basically Win7 has no native USB3 drivers. Wasn't a problem before as you could just use a USB2 port or USB3 port at USB2 speeds. But now they have changed the platform to remove the whole EHCI interface for talking to USB2 ports, so everything has to go through the xHCI (traditionally the USB3 interface) which win 7 doesn't recognise.

Basically if you try to install Win7 from a USB drive on Kaby Lake it won't recognise the USB it is itself running from so can't actually install.

You can eventually bypass it by slipstreaming in updated drivers to the Win7 ISO but it is a painful process.

Same thing happened when people pirated Windows 8 Pro and then got "Free Media Center Keys" that laundered them into clean licenses for Win8 Pro w/ Media Center. Microsoft closed the loophole to get the media center keys but didn't deactivate the licenses. Probably because doing so wasn't worth the effort. If people continue to use the assistive loophole they will probably shut that path down.

Fuck no. I've only paid for two versions of windows my whole life. First was Win 98 se. The other was Windows Home Server 2011. Windows XP ver I used was the original hacked Corp edition, which later in life I changed keys to install Sp2/Sp3.
My Windows 7 install I used Daz loader. Daz loaded still works btw. (sadly not for Win 8 or higher). But all that aside, couldn't you just use a usb optical drive to install Win 7 on pc's with no sata optical drive or to get around the whole lack of USB 3 drivers?

Yes, I have two laptops and both of them included a Windows license - which I don't use and never will.

Those of you who do use Windows should absolutely not feel bad for "pirating" that garbage. For every "pirate" version of it there's probably someone who bought some hardware that wasn't available without a Windows license. I use Win10 at work, small fullHD laptop with big fullHD monitor plugged in
its a horribly buggy piece of shit that cant even handle multiple monitors correctly. Taking a screenshot on the big monitor downsamples it, moving stuff from one monitor to another, un/plugging a monitor messes with font sizes seemingly at random, so you can have 3 explorer windows open with font sizes of something like 5, 15 and 25.
Each reboot randomly rearranges the desktop symbols
With 8GB RAM it can run out of memory with just IE and Firefox open, even though the entire task manager sums up to only 2GB RAM used

But MS didn't fix the W7 Ultimate upgrade-W10 Ultimate so I used their not yet functional upgrade to W10 Enterprise since W7U and W7E are the same except in name and W10 still doesn't have W10U since W10Pro isn't the Ultimate version that can disable a lot of the shit they call telemetry.
