I always see people complaining about Discord but I have no idea what you all are using it for. I'm only in one Discord server for a 14 year old PC game and nothing especially bad is going on there.

Tox, Otr, Cyptocat...nobody uses them either. And again, Discord is just a normie friendly alternative, that offers basically the same as multiple of those alternatives combined. The best I could do was migrate from TeamSpeak to Discord with my friends (And even that took some time) and use Telegram with my closest friends cos they were used to WhatsApp.

Tl;dr : They aren't exactly the same, and they are probably more inconvenient and don't have a decent userbase.
