You can learn programming on the side for the very reason you are talking about. There are thousands of resources to learn how to code now because companies want more people to lower wages.

If you do pure science or maths, you have skills in other areas and you can use programming as a tool. If you can not only do the theory but also implement solutions, you become incredibly valuable.

Programming is simply the tool to implement other things. If you don't know how to do the other things, then you're fucked especially in the future. I would definitely, if you are still able to, major in maths or science and then minor in compsci or software dev.

Really if you write a good API for your binary tree you could just iterate over it but that's actually pretty complex. The problem here is implementing the binary tree with that iterator aspect (Binary tree itself is ezpz). Ensuring each number is within it is trivial as well once you have that aspect.

I would do the first 2 and write my idea of how to implement it the third question.
