Sup /g/, I just wanted to ask if there's a way to clone ones android phone?
>Have s7 edge
>Ooh update to nougat?
>Updates
>Phone starts acting shitty
>Gets self bricked overnight and bootloops
Never mind waiting 2 months for them to send me a new one. So I wanted to ask if there are any precautions I can take?
>Pic related this happened when trying to factory reset it before sending it back.

I asked the same question a few months ago (got a Galaxy Tab S for Christmas and wanted to make a clean image of it). The responses here and leddit were basically "lol wut?". It seems that cloning/imaging Android partitions isn't really a thing. There was some sort of command that could be run through the Android SDK that sort of works, but is more of a backup then a clone/image.
If you find some alternative before this thread 404s, please post it here. I'd really like a solution, too.

wtf is cloning. you wont find anything on google searching for cloning.
you want a backup of your internal storage? can you boot into recovery? do you have stock or custom recovery?

NANDROID backups are literally full partition backup. Older version just gzipped the partition, but it switched to full partition cloning around the time TWRP became more popular than CWM
