Do you contribute to any open-source projects?
What are they?

A program that makes anime real.
No success ;_;
"Hello_World.c"
It's been kept open source for years on github, but it's been too perfect to modify or improve.

I once tried to make a Google application better because I was using it for a project.
Realized they won't accept pull requests when you are not part of the botnet.
Gave up.
If I had more time, I would probably do it more, but it takes a lot of time to get in the mindset of the person who made the original code, so your changes will be minimal.
I hope I have some time this summer so I can fix some of the mess that is android applications or make my IDE better.

I open source all of my software under the GPL after I drop support for it. I find that this is the best middle ground between preventing piracy and still building trust with existing and future customers. I also think that it's only fair to allow people to fork your software if you drop official updates.
