>it's current year
>people still buy 22 year old technology
>say it's "good enough"
>2000+17
>watching dvds on 4k tv
is there any way to stop this horrific trend?
>>60203857
Idiots buy them
Who cares
>>60204145
>Who cares
I do, it's holding the industry back because we can't stream new movies on Netflix because they have some sort of stupid deal where it HAS to go to DVD rental first
>>60204553
It would still just go to Blu-ray rental before Netflix if DVDs were no longer popular.
>>60204553
then just rent a DVD and get off your fat ass for 2 seconds to put it in the player
>>60203857
>on 4k tv
>such assumptions
>>60205178
I can confirm it happens, my parents have a 4k TV and rent DVDs to watch on it all the time.
>>60203857
Step 1: kill off HDMISIS.
Step 2: let DisplayPort reign supreme.
>>60205264
1/10 made me reply with anger
I burned a DVD today and there's not a thing you can do to stop me from using it. Not a god damn thing.
>2000+17
>people are still consumer sheep
>they still watch garbage kike movies
>>60205375
>b-but i need muh cgi capeshit in 4k
>>60205329
No, really. HDMISIS needs to be stopped at all costs. Hollywood cartels are the equivalent of terrorist organizations. They must be treated as such.
>>60205245
> parents
Ya that's the generation that still pays for cable.
Sad.
>>60203857
cheaper internet.
>>60203857
Digital streaming will replace it. No need to wait for shipping or leave the house to watch a DVD or Blu-ray when you can just rent a movie from Amazon Video or iTunes and instantly start watching it there. This is nice especially in the winter.
>>60203857
I have an uncle that bought a 4k TV and am Xbox One s for watching movies.
He rents DVDs. I tried explaining that DVDs are not 4k or even HD. He just said but my TV is 4k.
People will always be shitforbrains retarded.
internet is not cheap in NZ so people use DVD's or even you tube.
never even once saw main steam users use nt flicks.
Beside why would i pay in USD. lol not my currency bud.
well yeah dvd res sucks, but i also don't really need anything more than 1080. 4k and all that jazz, seems redundant to me. i can see 1080 just fine. it's like music (i'm an audio engineer), anything beyond 24 bit / 48 khz for music is absolutely bollocks.
>>60206962
everytime you use parentheses to say you're an audio engineer humanity gets pushed back a little bit.
Much like when a new rap song gets recorded.
>>60207076
kys. although i agree rap music sucks.
Quantity!
They're still good for older movies and some documentaries though,
also, laserdisc > dvd
>>60206193
As a kid, going to Blockbuster every Friday was the most comfiest thing. Kids these days are missing out so much.
>>60203857
Because Blue meme here cost $5 per disk while DVDs cost few cents.
