my degree is in cyber security, got a year left. did i fuck up?
is it as needed as everyone says it is? or is cybersecurity a big joke?

Sounds like it might have potential, but you could probably easily learn cyber security by studying math (specifically number theory and algebra) and CS in college
>>60185226
No, you didn't fuck up. My company is trying to hire a cyber security guy because cyber security is seen as a giant fucking headache that no one wants to deal with (but they can't trust Pajeet to do it).

This guy is right you'll be competing with maths and compscis.
>>60185226
Naw, you did good son. As long as you actually learned.
>>60185226
as long as you actually learned useful shit in your degree program, you'll be fine.
If not, you better brush up on your installing adobe reader and turning it off and on again skills.
I charge $2-5k/day for it, so make of that what you will

You probably fucked up. "Cyber Security" is the meme degree of the decade. Not quite as bad as "Video Games", but should have just done Comp Sci with a specialty in security

>tfw no proud american gf

Can't I just tell people there's a virus in the network?
I've never met a cyber guy who does anything other than jerk off all day. They also always have something quirky about them to try and stand out.

>tfw got a tech job after being out of practice for like three years and forgetting everything due to drug binges, lack of practice, other generally shit decisions
>first fucking call I get is to fix adobe reader
Is this my destiny?
>>60185226
It's boring unless you like that shit. It pays well and has job security for at least the duration of your life.

Who is this smegma enigma?

Literally one reverse image search away, friendo.
Why do I keep saving this image?

depends on where you go. If you're at a community college that offers cyber you're fucked. At the uni i go to, the cyber option is a set of courses you take with your cs major, not a major itself.
Get cisco certified or something, people pay big bucks here in seattle for people who know networking
