When did you realize non Unix-like operating systems are for children?
>studying computer fucking science in an university
>all of the programming classes are in c# using shit like winforms etc.
>even our fucking student emails are on microsofts shitcloud
>all of the document templates etc. used by uni break like shit if used in anything but microsoft word
>every fucking online course requires skype
If I don't dual boot I have to drop out. What do?

Talk to the professor, or quit that class and re enroll with a different professor next year, honestly I hated windows shills too.

It's not one class or one professors. It's literally all of them.
I asked one what should I do if I don't have Windows. He told me to try with Mono and if it didn't work then, well, bad luck. At least I can "get Microsoft products for free from the university" or "complete the whole course in the university's filthy computer class".
Forcing Microsoft's products seems to be fine as long as the products are provided for free. I don't care about the fucking costs, I just don't want to use Microsoft's bullshit anymore.
But not to worry, we have one (1), Linux course. Here comes one of the exam questions, are you ready? Remember, this is a university.
"Which command might remove your whole system:"
a) rm -rf
b-d) some other basic shit like grep, cd etc.

Unix isn't even good. It just happens to be the best surviving option. I primarily use OpenBSD and I can admit this.
I don't know. Speaking to somebody who likes, not tolerates, Unix is like speaking to somebody who actively likes Hillary Clinton; you can't help but wonder what the hell is wrong with them.

Most computer scientists are completely uninterested in operating systems. My university was a similar story, but with Apple products. None of the professors cared about FOSS as long as they had something that would interpret Python/ML/Lisp

qemu + win7 guest + qxl

>ms-dos
>children
suuuuuureeeeee....
>>60172491
that sounds like a shitty school, all the good universities use unix/linux for CS faculties
>>60173206
Dos is not unix
>>60172959
so you don't like anything?
>>60172459
On college, I was reading hackernews and the subject came out too often, then we have an installfest, try it out on my laggy win7 laptop and shit just werk
