I'm 22, about to finish a 2 year associates in science degree, emphasis on IT.
I don't want to get meme'd into undertaking student loan debt. I don't really want to stay in school for 2 more years. I know that there are a multitude of different certs you can get depending on what direction you want to go (OSCP, A+, Cisco, Network+, Security+, etc), and I hear that software employers moreso give a shit about your previous job history or your own personal portfolio of projects (apps, webpages, blogs, etc)
Guys, can you help a fellow anon out? I'm sure that there are others in my situation that would benefit

What's the point? You either do a 4 year B.S. or keep your HS diploma.
Associates are nothing, I know high schoolers that have gotten them, get your bachelors in science at a city owned uni

It's cheaper to go to community college and transfer your credits over to a 4 year uni.

I agree, it's just that OP doesn't want to do a 4 year, which I see as a bad choice. Even though you may be more skilled than a IT or CS graduate in 5 years, the fact that they have a degree and you don't places them above or equal you in the corporate hierarchy.

That's below the poverty line anon.
