What is the recommended password manager of /g/?

>LastPass
Locally encrypted, synced to LastPass cloud
>KeePass
Cross-platform, written in C#
>KeePassX
Port of KeePass to Qt, but without plugins
>KeePassXC
Maintained fork of KeePassX
>built-in managers of Firefox and Chrome
Literally giving your passwords to Mozilla and Google
>>
>>60159401
Why just don't use the unix password managment?
>>
>>60159439
does it exist on Windows 10 ?
>>
>>60159439
>what is cross-platform support
>>
How do password managers help against keyloggers?
>>
>>60159470
is it their role?
>>
>>60159495
If all authentication the software has is another password then it's flawed by design. Considering the frequency a password managers is used a keylogger will listenly get access at some point and with everything foolishly centralized that means you're compromized from the beginning.
>>
>>60159526
what alternative is there?
>>
>>60159401
>synced to LastPass cloud
jesus christ who thought a cloud based password manager was a good idea
>>
>>60159563
>>
>>60159573
as long as it's encrypted who gives a fuck
>>
>>60159573
As long as the encryption is sound, cloud syncing shouldn't be a problem.

There's a problem only when you use shit tier encryption (like EncFS does) which allows people who have different versions of the same encrypted file to deduce the key.
>>
I keep my KeePass file in Google Drive.

I don't care about the gubbamint (privacy), I just want security. My Google account is nice and secure, I doubt pajeet hackers are gonna be able to get in.
>>
>>60159526
When was the last time a keylogger was in the news ?
"that solution isn't perfect, therefore its total shit"

Most security breaches happen because people re-use the same login and password for different sites.

The chances of your bank being hacked is pretty low,
The chances the furry forum you post on getting hacked is pretty good,
they take the stolen information from the furry forum and go around seeing what other places they can access too
>>
>>60159563

write them down on pen / paper and hide it somewhere in your house

use some kind of simple code that only you can decipher if you are extra paranoid

if this is still too insecure for you then you are probably a child porn distributer and i hope you get fist fucked to death in jail anyway
>>
>>60159621
Serious question: if you're storing your keepass in Google drive, why not just use LastPass?
>>
>>60159699
Because Google doesn't have the Keepass encryption keys. LastPass obviously has their own.
>>
>>60159699
browsers are full of holes. I don't want any browser integration.

i also don't want the whole thing as part of a cloud service. I still like having an actual file that i possess, openable in offline standalone open source programs. i merely keep it in Google drive to keep it synced between my computer and phone, and to protect against losing my devices (nigger steals phone, nigger burgles my home, i break my phone, my computer dies, etc). It's happened before, and i would be fucked if i had to depend on one piece of hardware.

>>60159757
and yes, like this guy says, Google doesn't have my master password. now if they really wanted to, and dedicated one of their supercomputers to brute forcing my file, whatever. but I'm not a person of interest so why would they ever do that?

Google isn't interested in sabotaging my work documents or stealing my internet banking passwords or credit card numbers. but pajeet/chink/romanian hackers are.
>>
>>60159590
>>60159588
That doesn't mean you should fucking do it.
Encryption can be broken, give people the chance to do it free is retarded.
>>
>>60159401
Both are trash and botnets
>>
>>60159526
You can just use two-factor authentication for your account if you're using an online password manager.

>>60159816
LastPass doesn't have your master password either, passwords aren't stored in plain text, not for a password manager service.
>>
>>60159526
What about the master password that gets access through Master Key File? That' can't be keylogged.
>>
p a s s

if you keep your passwords in a cloud you're a retard.
>>
>>60159884
still, i don't like the servicey nature of it, and i still don't want any browser integration.
>>
>>60159891
A key file presents other challenges. How do you store it securely? This isn't a lock behind a lock strategy.
>>
>>60159563
Not having usernames and passwords in the first place
>>
What about 1Password?
>>
>>60160969
Its the only one worth a shit. People are paid to maintain it
>>
>>60160969
closed source jewish botnet

>>
Keepass. You can sync it online if you want and also keep a backup file to access offline
>>
>>60159401
>cross platform
>written in c#
Pick one.
