blackbird seems good
>not running it in a VM behind an open sauce firewall.
>>60145510
Its useless because telemetry is in the kernel
>>60145562
>not debotnetting it anyway for reduced CPU and RAM usage
>>60145575
Block it at your router.
>>60145597
how do you do this anyways.
>>60145606
You cant
>>60145510
Linux
jokes aside it's either linux or getting that rumored Windows 10 Chinese edition that has all the botnet taken out because the Chinese government is quite strict when it comes to security.

That's like being a gay porn star and asking what is the best protection from cock and AIDS.

I did all of this and monitored the traffic.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/manage-connections-from-windows-operating-system-components-to-microsoft-services
Time syncing needs to be disabled in the settings UI, the relevant policy doesn't seem to do anything (policy description supports that, I don't know why it's mentioned in the article)
OneDrive will still download updates, it can be uninstalled like any other application.
Windows Update service still made a single connection and transferred about 1KB of data, I don't know what that's for but you can simply disable the service. No idea why you'd disable updates though.
There were no other connection made during my testing.

You could download and install cummulative updates through the microsoft catalog
>>60145673
>you can't block traffic at your router
plsgo
>>60145822
Windows will not work
>>60145683
Yeah but then you get the chinese government spying on you so.

How so? Being unable to send telemetry data does not prevent the OS from working, in fact, it will try other alternate IPs to send the data, even if this last method fails, it basically archives all the data until a connection is established. But in no way it would stop/prevent the OS from working.

Why would you do that? Don't you want your time to be accurate?
>>60145606
That's will change nothing unless you unplug your rj45 cable, they will send shit via internet

I wouldn't do that but it's still a "connection to Microsoft".
The idea was to test if you can configure Windows to not make any connections back to Microsoft without third party programs and firewall rules.
Looks like you can.
Anyway you might want to disable time syncing if you're compiling drivers because the signing utility fails if your local date does not match utc date.
Took me a while to figure out what's wrong when I was working at midnight.

You may as well say Windows (10) will not work offline.
>>60148088

>>60146341

>>60151349
i had everything disabled. it didnt matter.
>>60145510
if you need a fucking 3rd party tool to do that, you dont deserve the false sense of security in the first place
fucking tool
>>60151692
You are probably retarded.
I've been using Windows 10 since the day is was released and it didn't reboot without my permission once.
>>60151708
>it didn't happen to me so the problem doesn't exist
>>60151759
It didn't happen to me so the cause of the problem is probably you.
