I saw a personal trainer teaching a guy to do OHP behind the neck.
Should I have said that that shit can cause injury in the shoulder head or do you actually think there's no problem in doing this?
>>
Fuck. I thought this was /fit/
>>
>>60144196
a common mistake
>>
you'll injure your wrists
>>
>browse /v/ and /u/
>once a week make a thread in the wrong boards
>end up having better off topic discussions and image dumps than on the respective boards

No, you absolutely shouldn't do this unless you want to lose your ability to do emacs key combinations.
>>
>>60144181
just do front OHP, rear delts are for plebs
>>
Only good shoulder exercises are side raises
Shoulder presses will eventually send you to snap city
My shoulder joints now crack when I lift my arms thanks to that
>>
>>60144181
>Should I have said that that can cause injury
Let a professional trainer do the talking.
>>
>>60144398
What about front raises? And facepulls?
>>
>>60144414
Professional trainers are equivalent to code monkeys in the fitness industry.

Let certified physical therapists do the talking instead:

Good goy
>>
>>60144451
I wouldnt do those definitely
Too much straining on the shoulders
Only light weights
>>
>>60144398

That's partially wrong. OHP is good for shoulder health - according to my physiotherapist friend who's also a national level powerlifter. However, I don't include OHP in my routine due to it taking simply too much out of me for bench. You are right though, lateral raises and small variations thereof are good for shoulder health
>>
>>60144181
This is one of the exercises where it really depends on the person.
I'm keeping it in the 3x6to9 range, no ego lifts, no forced reps and everything's just fine.

Finally, a chance to shill my a project: I built a website for sharing workouts online

>>
>>60144514

You're wrong on those. Front raises give a nice shoulder pump, personally. Facepulls are fine. May even help in bench (help retract scapula)

>>60144545

To keep things /g related
List device used to post

Ultrabook with kiketel i7

>>60144517
Problem is they dont allow much range in movement
Im talking heavy weight ofc, you'll be better off gradually increasing weight instead of the lift to fail bullshit

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say.
>>
anyone else here doing their 5x5 3 times a week?
>>
>>60144517
that's why you don't do OHP the same day you bench.
>>
>>60144601
Aye, natties doing push press is questionable
>>60144698
If you give a seperate shoulder day, then you have lower bench frequency which I don't like
t. avid bencher

>>60144644
I mean the joints
>>60144547
Well its better than presses but still
Id only do weights Im comfortable with

>>60144788

I'm actually running sheiko MSC Prep 2, but I used to run my own programming, which I assume alot of gentoomen do
>>
>>60144814
I do a 4-day split.
>>
>>60144324
That is actually an axiom of board culture I once postulated.

>The chances of having an actual serious discussion are higher if the OP topic is unrelated to the actual topic being discussed.

I have had several nice, informative discussions on /co/ when a thread derailed because of some insignificant detail in some panel or on a page someone posted.
I would even go so far as to say if you want actual discussion of a topic, you should not start with that topic, but rather give a hint for someone to pick up. Either you will get an actual discussion or not, in which case you still haven't lost anything compared to an on-topic OP.

I think it has to do with the compulsion to shitpost and that people are so used to their regular boards that thy would rather meme than actually discuss. If you get something alien in your thread you are suddenly out of your shitposting routine.

Should have told him to install gentoo

but on topic, I think just sharing workouts gets old quickly.
You need some other feature, like tracking your workout progress.
Maybe add some feature that suggests similar workouts (because every website needs these kind of suggestions nowadays).
Maybe let people upvote certain workouts.

You might end up with a database of the most popular workouts.
>>
>>60144181
he skipped leg day
>>
>>60144698
This. You should be doing chest and tri's one day and back+shoulders on another.
>>
>>60144196
Here we dress as girls and are "gay", not training and being gay as on /fit/
Some similarities, but big differences.
>>
If there is one thing ive learned about my body in my years in the gymnatorium, is to take it easy on the shoulders.

One day of heavy OHP 3x pyramid, followed by very light multiple reps
on dumbells.

If there is a hint of pain, STOP NOW FÄMÄLÄMÄZOID
>>
>>60144181
Look up Klokov press. I do those as OHP warmup and I like them a lot
>>
>>60144181
Have you tried rebooting the server?
>>
Who /1plateOHP/ here?

Also, Linux sucks.
>>
>>60144398
This is idiotic.
You were pressing incorrectly then.
And side raises miss out on other sections of the delts.
>>
>>60146197
>You were pressing incorrectly then
found the macfag
>>
>>60144181
It's hell on the rotator cuff, don't do it.
>>60146162
2pl8 here and I love Linux.
>>
>>60146162
max 30 before my elbows/wrists give out
>>
It is wrong to buy an ITX case just to curl it?
One with handles obviously.

Why lift when you can just go on a 400 calorie diet?
