Have you flashed Gapps ??
F-droid has some cool apps

If you flashed gapps I recommend disabling play services and play store usage access and turning off app scanning in google security setting.
You can use malwarebytes for security also Afwall does a superb job for network security.

I meant turning off useage access not disabling the app completely. They may still work perfectly but won't be able to monitor other installed apps.
Honestly I always run a googless setup on my device.
Its possible to run a complete open source android system. Many apps do ask for gplay services but they work fine without it. I have nothing against google but app analytics (google firebase analytics) are showing up everywhere. One of my favourite apps Root Explorer now has analytics enabled by default.
