What is the perfect laptop size in your opinion?
>>
>>60132738
Depends on your usage
>>
>>60132738
13 inch. Any bigger and you're compensating for something
>>
13/14/15 inch. Screen size is nice to work with and isn't a monster like 17"+ laptops.
>>
>>60132738
ASUS' EEEPC was perfect IMHO as long it has a Full HD HDMI output, dual core and fast RAM no need for bigger
>>
14 inch. Not too small and not too big. 14" and 1080p is sweet spot imo. No need to scale on-screen items and you still get plenty of space.
>>
>>60132738
13 inches.
>>
i like many notebook form factors:
- multimedia notebook as desktop replacement, next to second monitor
- business notebook for serious business, meetings etc
- netbook for casual media consumption, beats ipad any day
>>
>>60132797
Like the Razer Blade?
>>
>>60132797
this
>>
>>60132797
This man knows.
>>
>>60132797
This is perfect
>>
>>60132738
75 inches
>>
14". Too bad there aren't as many laptops of this size as there are 13 or 15 inch.
>>
>>60132772
>15.4 inch laptop
>8 inch dick
>>
13-14 inch for a "take wherever" machine

15 inch for a "take it from place to place but mainly use it on a desk" machine

17 inch for a "rarely leaves the desk but sometimes have to take it places" machine
>>
>>60132738
14 inch plz.
>>
24 inches should be godtier
Less than that is losing your eyes at the tiny screen sizes
>>
>>60132784
I was tempted to get one back when they were popular. Is it a dead form factor, or are new ones being made? It was fun to use. A 10 inch screen one that could be folded like a tablet would be neat.
>>
>>60132738
12".

my x220 is perfect size
my old powerbook G4 12" was a close second and that 1024x768 was so damn comfy
>>
>>60133612
>1024x768
>comfy

1024x768 was feeling cramped even when the 12" PowerBook first came out.
>>
>>60132738
Shitposting 11-13 inch
Actual work >= 15 inch
Desktop replacement 17 inch
>>
13, but it is the unicorn of laptop screen sizes

14 is the best alternative

11/12 are too small and give headaches
beyond 14 is too big and bulky
>>
>>60132738
How long do you suppose I'd be put away for sneaking into her house to suck on her foot?
>>
>>60133612
>comfy
thats a funny way of trying to justify 'garbage'
>>
My T420S is as perfect as it gets. 14" is just enough for a screen. It's not as THICC as a T420. How can you get better?

14-15"

I've been using a 14" laptop for several years now. I wouldn't mind a 15" display, but 17" is too big and anything smaller than this is too small.
>>
13.3" is best. The Dell XPS 13.3" is great. Shit, even my Toshiba Chromebook 2 is 13.3" and it's fucking perfect. 14-14.1" is usually larger for no reason.

17.1" and 18.4" laptops are retarded tier. 15.6" should be the absolute largest size. And also with 15.6", they should come minimum with 9 cell batteries integrated with the bottom. The only reason to have a 15.6" would be for a mobile desktop replacement so a smaller battery would be worthless.
>>
>>60132738
2048 x 1536
12" (diagonal)
4:3 because I need vertical space for productivity like normies need wide meme to watch and play their waste shit
>>
15 inch screen, inch thick
>>
>>60132738
15-17 in. I have both 15 and 17, and always going from the larger to the smaler one, the 15in feels too small.
>>
>>60133705
>15.6" should be the absolute largest size
t. manlet
>>
>>60132870
More like a good thinkpad, but okay. LIke the razer blade.
>>
15.6 Inches

Nobody will say it because it's the plain/standard common size. However it is overall the best.
>>
>>60132738
My preferences are the same as your moms, 9"
>>
>>60133632
>>60133653
fuck off muh retina iKids i bet you weren't even born when that glorious piece of hardware came out
>>
>>60134707
You're way off for me at least.

Around the time the 12" PowerBook G4 was released, I was 13 years old and bought my first used ThinkPad on eBay which was a 770z equipped with the glorious 1280x1024 display. Granted, that was a huge beast of a machine compared to a 12" PowerBook.
>>
>>60132772
Yeah, not having to lug around a huge monitor mainly...
>>
14" with XPS-size bezels. 13.3" if you have apple-size bezels.

This is objectively wrong. You want 1440p.
>>
>>60132738

The T4XXs series is the most garbage tier range of machines Lenovo has ever put out. It has the gimped soldered on processor of the 12 inch X2XX but is bulkier with no added benefit. You should consider selling that thing and getting a real T4XX or just neck yourself.
>>
>>60132738
15"
>>
15" is ideal for multi-purpose. 11" and 13" are better for traveling.

>>

Desktop replacement is a meme.
>>
>>60133633
>>60134983
My 15" laptop has already replaced my old desktop. I like being able to use it as a portable laptop, and then putting it on my desk, connecting it to my desktop peripherals (and external monitor) and using it as a desktop computer. Two birds with one stone.
>>
>>60132738
I really liked the 17" Toshiba Satellite I had years and years ago. I wish more manufacturers would make them - and not retard-tier gaming laptops either, just larger laptops with decent other specs and reasonable battery life.

Unfortunately that doesn't really happen, so the answer has to be 15".
>>
>>60135069
I have the same setup at work where I don't do much besides listen to Spotify, browse, code, and ssh into servers. I don't consider it a desktop replacement, however, because my PC at home is much, much more powerful.

A desktop replacement shouldn't have to use a gimped CPU/GPU. And if it isn't, it's probably too heavy to be mobile anyway.

17" with thin bezels
>>
The biggest size. Just not as thick as a brick.
>>
>>60132738

Depends. If you're just using it as a mobile appendage and have something else for heavy lifting then the narrow-bezel, high-DPI 13" machines are lovely.

If you only have one machine, then 15"

17 inches is great and the laptops are so big they usually have great speakers too. I have pic related and it still works great

14" is the only acceptable size
>>
12.1" 4:3
>>
12.5 to 13.3. Anything bigger and I'll just get a desktop.
>>
>>60134881
>have X1 Carbon with 1440p screen
>scaling on every fucking Linux distro is abhorrent
>forced to use 1080p to even have it usable

Fucking WINDOWS does it flawlessly. The only response Linux has here is actually Solus with Budgie. Even then, there's some weird scaling issues, like with for example Steam.

>>60132772
>15.6 inch, 8 inch dick
Do average size dicklets that prefer a 13 inch notebook actually exist?
>>
>>60137251
Also forgot to add; 13" is best size. 14" is nice and portable enough, 15.6" beasts can fuck off.
>>
>>60134129
As someone who is 6'8" I disagree with you.
Manlet.
>>
>>60134912
Doesn't the T420s have a slimmer body than the T420?
