Will suggest you go with darker colors if you want it to last long. I think the dye would fade rather quickly after the first wash.

uTorrent can connect
uTorrent doesn't spontaneously delete your files.
uTorrent's response to deleted files isn't to start redownloading them
uTorrent's response to files that don't check isn't to start redownloading, deleting what you had.

uTorrent is lightweight, fast, stable, it works great, and it doesn't do anything stupid.

What is the typical lifespan of a laptop's motherboard and chipset? My laptop is about 5 years old now but it's an i7 cpu so it still olds up very well for what I do. Lifespan until not dead, another 10+ years is possible. Lifespan until no longer useful, depends how much improvements we get in hardware. 10 years is unlikely, the oldest machines I'd consider still relevant today are ~2011 models.

This is quite cheeky. Now I'm wondering all the ways I could play with this.
Using it to carry two ethernet connections just seems silly, you'd get so much interference I wonder if it'd even be functional, it'd be much better to just use a gigabit cable with VLANs, but I'm sure one day I'll have some reason to pump two separate networks through one cable and this shit'l save the day.
Would be nice for something where each "Cable" is only sending intermittently.

>>60126199
I think the main problem with proprietary software is that you're forced to accept the pov of the editor/dev/company and if they take bad decisons or waste time on a shitty feature no one cares about, you can't do anything, there are no discussions possible.
>>
>>60126551
By the magic of twisted pair with different twist rates per pair there's actually not much interference, so long as the distance is kept reasonable two 100BaseT links over a single Cat5 apparently works fine.

>>
>>60126720
No error when I run the linux version from a terminal (there used to be, but I fixed those), I just get a popup with an error which is explained in the forums as I am missing the "original game data"
From their explanation, I am supposed to install the game (windows thing, I used wine), then install a patch (also windows thing, used wine again), then install a patch that should be the linux version, I assumed should be in the same directory as the windows install, but since there is no information, I am just fumbling in the dark with this.

Ok guys I really need help with
>pic related

I'm new to programming and I'm trying to learn Entity Component Systems for my game. I've come across these bitwise operators in this tutorial and I understand what its supposed to do, I'm just not understanding how its figuring out which component it is.

>each bit is reserved for a component type. For our example lets assume a 4 bit type instead of a 64 bit long

In this is it ok to assume that there are 16 different possible combinations? Or is it just only 4 types of components?

>our example entity would have all available components. So it's key would be 1111.

How would this be ALL available components? If I'm assuming its 16 different combinations wouldn't this be just one type of component?

>It can check an entity with a simple AND operation. So our entity matches if ((1111 & 1100) == 1100).

Again with the before if I do this (and sorry I don't know how to post code snippets) :

if((1000 & 1100 & 1110 & 0001) == 1111)

Wouldn't that be correct? So if this IS the correct way of obtaining the components, wouldn't it be easier just to check for the name of components instead of constantly adding more bits until you finish the game?

of couse it won't fix it, you have to fix it yourself.

1. download supergrub2
2. write the supergrub2 iso on a flash drive (simple dd or win32diskimager method)
3. boot from the USB, let supergrub2 discover your gahnoo+loonix installation
4. boot up your distro, repair grub from withing:
grub-install /dev/sda
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

-replace /dev/sda with your real device name if you boot disk is not sda
-debian-based distro users can just use update-grub2 rather than the mkconfig line

5. reboot, grub should work

>>
>>60127091
That question is just about bitwise operations. It has nothing to do with components

Yes there's only 16 combinations in 4 bytes.

If a bit is 1 then the thing it represents, in this case the component, is on, true, up or whatever 1 means to you otherwise it is off, false, down. You can have four things to check for their state.

Yes that works, it is simply to know if the bit you want is 1 or 0.

This is all a fancy, single variable for the sake of optimizations and mental gymnastics for the noobs, array of booleans. That's all there is to it.

i need 6 hours of battery life, I spend 12-13 hours outside of my home and don't want to add a bulky charger to my kit.

also my current laptop literally cannot project greater than 1366x768. I hook it up to some of the tvs we have at work and it displays an image the size of my 13inch monitor.

this laptop's video card doesn't even support higher resolutions than 1366x768. I literally bought a cheap piece of shit when my desktop suddenly died in a highwork load week and needed a replacement asap.

Gonna go pick up an external harddrive for storage purposes.

I know they can all fail, but which ones are best known for reliability? I have/had a 4 TB Western Digital Black drive, which is the first drive to have ever failed on me(and lost about 3.3 TB of data, about 1 TB of that being lots of stuff that was irreplaceable like pictures & videos over the years and things like that) this was my backup solution so now it's made me paranoid as ever loving fuck about my backup being lost since this has happened.

I've had lots of drives over the years, and this one was handled like a goddamn baby for the month and a half I had it when it just took a shit on me out of nowhere for no reason while staying stationary.

I'm RMA'ing the WD drive, but need one immediately so I'm trying to pick one up in person today, and just want some reassurance with whichever brand I go with at this point.

To make a long story short, I found myself with a bsod problem in Windows 10 and my computer was constantly rebooting, due to an error with virtual disc drives. I did a couple of things as an attempt to fix it. This went on until eventually Windows 10 went into the "Preparing Automatic Setup" screen, which then it would shut off and reboot. So now my computer is in an infinite loop. Even when I load my installation USB my PC it shuts off and turns on.

Is there anything I can do besides wipe it? I have ultimate boot cd so I can load programs like parted magic, etc.

I read that C++ doesn't have variable length arrays, like C has since C99. Arrays need to be fixed in size at compile time.

#include <cstdlib>
#include <iostream>

int main(int argc, char** argv)
{
int n = atoi(argv[1]);
int my_array[n];
for (int i = 0; i < n; i++)
{
my_array[i] = i;
std::cout << my_array[i];
}

}

I compile this code with
g++ -std=c++11 main.cpp
, and it compiles to do what you expect. Can someone please explain?

My music library currently has a mix between MP3, FLAC and AAC files.
I want to make a clone of my entire music library on my PC and store it in a different folder, but with all of the FLAC files converted to Opus, and the lossy files remaining unchanged. This clone library must also be able to synchronize with changes in the original music library as needed.
My reason for doing this is that I am running out of space on my Sansa Clip's SD card, but my hard drive still has plenty of available space to clone my library.

according to someone last thread, the way to reset ssds to factory write speeds is to secure erase them

i dont care at all about data confidentiality or anything. my SSD is just SUPER fucked up. like when i drag and drop things from my current samsung SSD to this PNY ssd it goes something like 50kb/s transfer. but when i drag it off the pny to my samsung it goes 200+ mb/s
its super fucked
>>
>>60129868
Well that's probably just cause it's an old SSD. They didn't have their shit together in the first few generations, so they tend to degrade and die young. In theory a secure erase shouldn't do anything extra as long as trim is running, although if you can find something to issue the command you might as well. Another thing you could try is shrinking your partition so there is like 10-15gb unused space on the SSD, although it's too late for that to help much with wear leveling.

"getting hot" is what the 3xx series does. It's possible there's something wrong with your GPU, but if you can improve the airflow on the cheap I'd give it a shot. back in 2014 i bought a 4690k with a b85 mobo , knowing that i won't be able to oc (or not as well) and i could upgrade later. My motherboard ended up supporting OC but with 3 phase power i haven't tried it.

Market is pretty dry when it comes to z series boards (handful of asrock and low tier gigabyte ones).

i found a sweet deal on a z97x-gaming g1 wifi-bk-run-out-of-shit-to-type. it's used , comes with 1 year warranty and costs 150€. thing is , it lacks it's original box and some contents (sata cables , leaflets ,cds and I assume the bridges , stickers , hope it has the wi-fi and backplate with it).

I also found a deal on the ga-z97x-gaming gt (almost the same motherboard without the wi-fi , watercooled vrm , lacks 2 sata ports , has vga , you know , small differences) with original box and contents (minus cds) for 190€ used with 6 months warranty.

Rest of the specs are 8gb ram , 212 evo with 2 nf-f12 on it , seasonic g650 and an xfx 290x 8gb.

Firstly , would you consider the wifi-bk to be worth even without the wi-fi module?

Secondly , is it worth getting a motherboard to OC?

Lastly , if worth OCing , which would you pick?

tl;dr , poorfag asking for which used z97 motherboard to pick , if worth picking for OC.

My TV has a problem with HDMI sources displaying on it, it's too zoomed in

It is a Sony Bravia KLVS32A10 TV

I realize this issue comes from some sort of Overscan on the TV (most likely), however the TV's overscan setting is Off, and the only options for it (+1 and +2) only zoom it in further

I've looked through all available options regarding anything that has to do with Zoom/Scaling and none of them allow me to zoom out any further.

I think my only option is to somehow access the service menu on the TV, which I dont know how to get to and am afraid to as I hear you can really screw things up if you change something the wrong way

any advice?

Unless I can find some kind of fix regarding the service menu, I think I'm out of luck, and I cant find anything online of anyone having a similar issue

YOGA-11E-HERO-IMAGE[1].png
71KB, 725x515px
I have a Thinkpad Yoga, and I watch web videos on it frequently, however I keep having two specific issues on the laptop:

1.Low memory warnings
2.Af ter a while the audio does some weird shit and completely slows down and distorts the audio of everything and only gets fixed once I reboot the PC (I've checked my CPU usage when this happens and it's not even over 10%)
I dont know whats going on

The laptop has a fresh install of windows 8.1 with literally nothing installed on it but Chrome and VLC, I literally only use it to watch local videos and a youtube video here and there

Why is this happening? Other than WIndows being a bloated mess of an OS, it shouldnt be fucking up this bad right?

128k or even 96k should be enough for audio, it doesn't need to be calculated like the video.
you could also try to use only 90% of the 3MB instead of 95% as max size to leave more space for audio, so 22649241

Disk Cleanup, and/or CCleaner. Shrink volume in Disk Management. If it's shrunk down enough, you can go to cloning it. If not, delete some crap, defrag & free space defrag using Defraggler. Or see if GParted can shrink it any smaller when booted from a Linux CD.

Then boot a Linux CD and clone the MBR and all partitions over to the new drive using dd or Clonezilla. Use GParted to expand the partition to fill the drive.

Alternately just fresh reinstall and use Daz Loader.
>>
>>60132642
How much did that hub cost you? I might get one. Unfortunately when a portable device doesn't work with a charger, it's pretty much game over. You can try a different cable, but I just don't think you'll get them to cooperate. Aukey tends to overpromise, and not work that great. I would spend a bit more on a better charger. I suppose if it's just the one device that's giving you crap, you could carry the hub around everywhere. Although your charging speed and efficiency will probably suck.

How do I print QR codes on paper and be sure that it won't ever fade away? What kind of paper and printer do I need?

I want to print my PGP master key on paper because people can't hack that shit. Store it in my safe. However, I need to be able to recover it.
