Android and "Chrome OS" and the Google fanboys who support them have done more harm to the growth of NATIVE LINUX than any corporation in existence. Because of Android and "Chrome OS" people stopped developing applications for desktop Linux.

Their argument does something like: Android is Linux or "Chrome OS" is Linux so I'll just develop for them. They think having the Linux kernel makes it Linux.

And what do they intend to replace it with? Pretty much every user space library interacts with Win32, since there is no other portable method of issuing system calls on Windows. If they wanted to make a new low level API, they'd be starting completely from scratch.

Quite the contrary. Mobile actually forced more multi-platform development frameworks out there (if you have to code for Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, and Android, you might as well use one framework for everything) and Linux was able to tag along for the ride. Granted, tons of Electron applications isn't really that great, but it's better than nothing. Also, Unity and Unreal and Steam support means plenty of games.
